13 years old, Janvi Jindal has retained her National Champion status in Roller Freestyle (Girls-Sub Junior-11-14 Age) by winning Gold in the ongoing 58th National Roller Skating Championship.
She again brought laurels for Chandigarh by winning the first ever medal (Bronze) for Chandigarh in Slalom Freestyle. This is the first ever medal in this category not just for Chandigarh but also for the nearby states of Punjab, HP, J&K. She had last year also found a place in the prestigious India Book of Records.
This Chandigarh girl had registered her name in the India Book of Records in two special categories, ‘Marvellous feat to glide downstairs while skating’ and ‘youngest to perform Bhangra on skates’. Her family explains that she is the first in India, who can glide downstairs while skating and also perform Bhangra with skates on.
Janvi has recently given the world a new form of Bhangra I.e. Bhangra on Skate. Her performance was appreciated by CM, Punjab Capt. Amrinder Singh. She was also facilitated by the State Award & MC Award by Chandigarh on this Republic Day. She has proved her metal again in both Sports and Arts/Culture; thereby putting Chandigarh’s name on India’s freestyle skating map and making Chandigarhians proud!
