Prepare to be captivated by the two-day musical celebration, ‘Kasauli Music Festival 2024’ (KMF 24), taking place on March 29th and 30th, 2024, at Santa Roza – A WelcomHeritage Resort, nestled amidst the serene Pine hills of Kasauli. The organizers unveiled the festival’s poster during a media briefing held at Chandigarh Club.
Presented by the team at Santa Roza – A WelcomHeritage Property in collaboration with ShowCase Events and supported by City Woofer, a premier online ticketing platform from Chandigarh, the festival promises a memorable experience for music enthusiasts. Dr. Zoya Singh, Director of Santa Roza; Gunjan Pandey, General Manager of Santa Roza; and Nanni Singh, Chief Executive Officer of ShowCase Events, who also serves as KMF’s curator, shared insights into the upcoming musical extravaganza at a select media gathering.
Nanni Singh expressed, “This inaugural edition of KMF 24 embraces the theme of ‘Folk and Bollywood’ music. What distinguishes this festival is our commitment to showcasing live music across diverse genres in the enchanting setting of the Kasauli hills.”
Dr. Zoya Singh highlighted, “Enhancing the music lover’s experience is the venue itself – Santa Roza – A WelcomHeritage Resort, nestled amidst lush green forests, paying homage to the natural beauty of Himachal. The ambiance, amidst the enchanting ‘pines’ and pristine surroundings of our resort in Kasauli, promises to be unparalleled.”
A unique aspect of the festival is its focus on providing a platform for local musicians. Gunjan Pandey elaborated, “The festival aims to uplift local singers and musicians from Himachal Pradesh. Bands like HP 14 and Himalayan Roots, representing Solan and Shimla respectively, are part of the lineup. Additionally, the festival will celebrate the rich heritage of Himachal’s folk music.”
Headlining the event is Kavita Seth, a renowned Sufi composer and singer known for Bollywood hits such as ‘Rangi Saari’ and ‘Iktara’. Music composer and instrumentalist Abhijit Pohankar will present ‘Bollywood Gharana’, blending Classical, Folk, and Bollywood music. Performances by Akaash Verma, Kutle Khan, and Jasleen Aulakh are also scheduled. Notably, the festival will feature Fouzia Dastango & acclaimed vocalist Vidhi Sharma presenting ‘Meena Kumari Ki Dastaan’, a Musical Dastangoi narrating the tale of Meena Kumari.
Dr. Zoya added, “The festival offers something for every age group, including a festival bazaar, engaging games, a dance workshop, meditation sessions, treks, and an open stage for young artists to showcase their talent during the day.”
