Make a Positive Affirmation

Challenging times, challenging attitudes – loss of job, poor health, panic, and confusions – we all are facing this in different forms and degrees. Our minds are gripped by fears and insecurities, and we must not forget that unresolved fears resulting from trauma ultimately lead to anxiety.

The challenge of fears and the fear of challenges can trigger many unexpected emotions and feelings, the biggest being insecurity. Seeing a spider is never the problem, the problem is when it disappears!

What can be or is the impact of all these happenings on our lives for now or the times to come?

Fear can make your breathing short and shallow, while mindfulness of breathing keeps the diaphragm open and breathing deep. Fearless doesn’t mean denying fear; it’s not a state of being without fear but one of being with awareness.

Just as Sadhguru says, “What fear does is it puts boundaries around you. It is because of fear that you build boundaries all the time. If you put boundaries and restrict the area of your life, you may be safe, but the problem is you are safe even from life. You are protected from life itself. That’s real protection!”

There is power in calmness.

In the words of Rabindranath Tagore,

“Where the mind is without fear…and the head is held high! 

What do you want to hold high….your fears or your spirit?”

Now, would you like to be in a state of ‘nirbhau’? What stops you?

Let us do a simple exercise to deal with our fears.

  1. Take three deep breaths.
  2. Say to yourself three times, ‘I am ready to deal with my fears’.
  3. Write your fears on paper.
  4. Take three deep breaths again.
  5. Feel every fear you have written to bring it more to your awareness.
  6. Self-analyze your fears, how many are real and virtual?
  7. Take three deep breaths again.
  8. What is the message for you?
  9. Again write down the message that you get from your heart and say ️God Bless You ️for yourself.
