Christmas Rituals You Must Start Doing This Year Onwards

In our beloved city Chandigarh, we celebrate a lot of lovely festivals every year. From Holi to Diwali and Christmas to Navratri. We are lucky to experience the correct weather for every festival and be able to experience each season. While there are a lot of things to do when it comes to Diwali and Holi, not many of us know about the traditional Christmas rituals.

From Caron singing to tree decoration, Christmas is a very fun festival. However, if there aren’t many practicing Christians around you, you might find Christmas dull. So, we are here to tell you how to celebrate this festival and also enjoy this time of the year. Try to follow these rituals to spark the spirit of the festival and to enjoy these days to the fullest.

  1. Christmas Cookies:One day or two days before Christmas, you can start baking Christmas cookies. Even if you are not an expert baker, just take an easy recipe off the internet and bake a small batch of cookies. Try to cut them in cute Christmas shapes and decorate them with colored sprinkles. Enjoy these during the Christmas days with your loved ones.
  2. The Joy of Giving:Try to make it a habit to donate old clothes every year around Christmas to the less fortunate. As the temperatures dip low during this season, your old clothes can help keep many warm in the biting cold. Find an NGO to donate to or simply donate to needy people you see on the roads.
  3. Tree Decoration:You can easily find a Christmas tree around you in markets. If you can get a live tree, nothing like it. Get a lovely Christmas tree home and decorate it with colorful ornaments. Place it in your living room and watch how the home feels festive and lively immediately.
  4. Church Visit:On Christmas day or one day prior, visit one of the churches in the city. The Christ Church in Sector-18 is most beautifully decked on Christmas and the whole area is alive with festive fervor. Don’t forget to light some candles in the Church and visit the biblical exhibition. Faith does not confine to one religion. Visit the beautiful place of worship to get absolutely divine feelings.

Last but not the least, do not miss this chance to get together with family and friends and party. Meet up with your buddies or extended family and party till you drop. After all, ‘tis the season to be jolly.’
