Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator along with Anita Dharam Pal recently inaugurated the new souvenir shop at Chandigarh Bird Park, wherein 65 different varieties of souvenir items will be available for sale to the visitors.
Operated by the Forest Department Chandigarh, the souvenir shop will keep adding more items to its collection with the passage of time. The Administrator shared that the collection of souvenirs is quite interesting and attractive for different age groups of visitors.
The Adviser also released four newly born wood ducks in the aquatic aviary of Chandigarh Bird Park. He appreciated the management intervention at Chandigarh Bird Park for successful breeding of the birds. He further stated that appropriate care must be taken to create a conducive atmosphere for all the bird species and encourage breeding in other species as well.
Debendra Dalai, Chief Conservator of Forests informed that the eggs laid by the wood ducks were shifted to the incubator to avoid any damage to these eggs. Adequate temperature was also maintained for hatching of these eggs. He further informed that the subadult chicks of wood ducks are already 2 and 1/2 months old and are stable enough to survive in the open condition.
