‘Romancing Life’, a beautifully written book by former ADGP Haryana, Sh. VK Kapoor was recently released at a glittering function at the Chandigarh Press Club.
Hon’ble Speaker of Haryana, Sh GC Gupta, Dr Sumita Misra, IAS, Vivek Atray, ex-IAS and Hardeep Chandpuri, the Publisher of the book, graced the occasion.
A prolific writer, Mr Kapoor has been writing for various publications for the past many years. The book is a collection of his articles that have previously been published in various newspapers.
The myriad choice of articles shared with his microscopic view of the world around him are laced with humour, deft writing and a wonderful grasp over the English language. Each article stands out on its own and seems to call out to the reader with a rich dose of wit and sometimes, satire.
“Babe Di Full Kirpa”, is what Mr Kapoor summed up his writing and publishing journey.
VK Kapoor, Retired IPS, while speaking on the occasion said, “I have got the opportunity to go to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Israel, and many countries, I learned a lot from there and this book is a collection of my experiences.”
In his address on this occasion, Gian Chand Gupta, the Speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha said, “I have been known Mr Kapoor for 10-12 years, when he started social service and I always used to go to him for any advice.” He said Mr. Kapoor has been my source of inspiration, and has left an indelible mark in whatever field he has worked in and has worked with utmost sincerity in his duty and life.
Retired IAS and Author, Vivek Atray, also shared his memories with VK Kapoor and said that Mr. Kapoor is a lively and good person, and his book is the essence of life’s experience. “Very few people have such qualities, and I got the opportunity to work with many IPS and IAS officers, but still found very unique qualities in Mr. Kapoor”, he added.
